Before becoming a criminal defense attorney, Gary Medlin spent over eight years serving as an assistant district attorney, where he prosecuted criminal cases against individuals accused of breaking the law. That time on the other side of the courtroom gives him valuable insight into how prosecutors think, what they prioritize, and where their strategies are most vulnerable. He uses that knowledge to build stronger, smarter defenses for our clients.

For the past 37 years, Gary has focused exclusively on criminal defense in Texas. He is Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization—a recognition held by only 10% of attorneys statewide.
